Character Creation

Leveling Up

Step 6: Spend 5 LP For Level One

The last step of creating a Level One character in RISE is to add whatever custom character options you feel best fits your character concept! This is done by spending 5 LP.

At Level 1, you gain 5 LP to spend.

This LP may be spent on various character upgrades to increase Stats or Attribute scores, to ranking up Skills, Trades, Classes, or learning new spells. Each of these items has a cost, listed below.

Spending Level Up Points

When leveling up, consider spending LP on character upgrades that follow the story of your character and/or adventuring party. Take a look at the Level Up Survey for inspiration.

Most level Ups will grant you 5 points to spend as you wish. For most RISE games, we recommend always spending at least 1 LP on increasing your primary stats (HP, Speed, MP) depending on your desired playstyle. Levels 5, 10, 15, and 20 are a great time to increase your attribute scores, as they provide additional LP.

If you want to be a more combat-focused character, you may want to spend more points in Classes, whereas a more roleplay or non-combat character might have more points in Trades You do not have to spend all your LP when you level up. However, hoarding all your LP will do you no good if you end up dead or unable to accomplish your goals.

Gaining Level Up Points

When a player levels up (GM’s discretion) they gain LP (Level Points) depending on what level they have reached:
